Objective

To provide course attendees with comprehensive understanding on the operation, maintenance, inspection and testing procedures of fire protection systems in buildings

Course Contents

Module 1 – Basic Fire Science
Module 2 – Pipes, Valves and Fittings
Module 3 – Pumps, Drivers, Controllers & Water Storage Tanks
Module 4-1 – Water Based Fire Protection Systems on Sprinkler, Water Mist & Water Spray
Module 4-2 – Water Based Fire Protection Systems on Wet Riser, Dry Riser, Fire Hydrants & Hosereels
Module 4-3 – Maintenance of Water Based Fire Protection Systems (NFPA 25)
Module 5 – Foam Systems
Module 6 – Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
Module 7 – Clean Agent Fire Protection Systems

Course Details

Duration Options for Participants:

  • Option 1 – Participants must take all 17 Sessions (3 hours each session) comprises of 12 classroom lectures, 4 hands-on practices & 1 written examination and pass the it before they can be awarded the Certificate of Competency in the Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems.
  • Option 2 – Participants must take Module 1 and 2, before they can take up other modules like 3 and 4(to be signed up together), module 5, 6 and 7 in any order. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded certificate of attendance after each module, a time frame of 2-years is allowed for participants to complete all the modules and they will be awarded the Certificate of Competency in the Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems.

Personnel involved in operating and maintenance of fire protection systems in all types of buildings from: Fire Protection Industry, Fire Safety Manager, SCDF

Registration & Payment

Full payment for the course is required for confirmation of place. All crossed cheques shall be made payable to “Institution of Fire Engineers (UK)”

 Withdrawal & Deferment

Withdrawal or deferment from the course shall be made in writing:

  • 2 weeks or more prior to commencement of course; 100% refund
  • Less than 2 weeks prior to commencement of course; 50% refund
  • On or after commencement of course; no refund

In the event that the course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances; 100% refund will be given
