STRUCTURAL FIRE ENGINEERING
The aim of the seminar is to to share research findings in the field of fire engineering at the University of Edinburgh. introduce structural fire engineering theories that are relevant for Fire Safety Engineering (FSE).
This conference will generally focus on the application of design methods for structures to resist fire, with relevant themes being fire testing, simulation of heat transfer between fire and structures, modelling of structural behaviour at elevated temperatures using numerical methods or software implementations of design codes, case studies showing successful applications of performance-based structural fire safety design, as well as new research studies on the relationship between experimental findings, calculation methods and FE simulations
The knowledge gained at the seminar will help participants to be aware of aspects related to structural fire engineering in their works.
Who should attend
Fire Safety Engineers, Professional Engineers, Registered Architects, Officers from Relevant Government Agencies, Suppliers of Strucutral Products, Building Owners, Developers, Building Contractors, etc.
Miss Martina Manes and Miss Norlizan Wahid
The seminar will be by Miss Martina Manes and Miss Norlizan Wahid from the School of Civil and N at the University of Edinburgh (Edinburgh, UK).
Miss Manes has been in the PHD in Civil Engineering specialised in Structures and Fire with the topic: ‘Resilience Optimisation of Structures when exposed to fire’ studying UK and USA fire statistics since 2016.
Miss Wahid has been in the PHD in Civil Engineering since 2015. Her researches include Three-dimensional Finite Element Modelling of Reinforced Concrete Structures at High Temperature and Properties of Foamed Concrete Containing Fly Ash Subjected to Elevated Temperature.
